Hey there peeps!

If you guys got nothing to do next weekend and hard slammin' comic fanatics, why don't y'all check out this wonderful ACG (anime, comics, games) convention held in Berjaya Times Square.  From what I heard, there will be more more events and doujin booth compare to previous one. (well of course! haha)

Anyway, unfortunately for me, I wont be able to visit them as a spectator this year cos time and other things forbid me, but I will try my best to sneak out from all of that and attend it. So if any of you guys see a Jake Gylenhaal look alike, carrying paper bags full of comics stuff, that would not be me...

Whoa, check out this new G.I Joe's animation that will be air in the US tomorrow. I find it quite refreshing and I certainly loving the art. While some are not quite satisfied with this upcoming animation saying that it is close to a rough draft and not a 100% finished animation, but what the hell...I still like what I see so far.

Doodle From Azreen Chan!

Most of you probably already knew about Azreen Chan and her doodle artworks. Dang, this girl is talented and got serious stuff up her sleeves. 

Anyway, been a fan of her for almost a year now and finally got a chance to sweep some of her stuff during an art booth events a few weeks back. Unfortunately, not much artworks being offered at that day, and being late to arrived to that event added to my frustration not to get more of her stuff. However, I'm content with that but hoping to see more from her in the future...

Warning! My First Sketch Video....Look Away!

Haha, I never knew editing video is gonna be so much pain in the butt. I spend whole of my precious Saturday just to figure this out. And time well spend my friends! ^^;

Anyway, it's not much. This video supposed to be experimental, but I could not resist myself to shed  some light onto it. So be kind to me okay? However, please don't go popping the popcorn on my behalf....hahaha

On a lighter note, right now you can see and learn some of my method in sketching concept art, or prelims idea if you may said so.  Its not a masterpiece (and it doesn't have to) but this is how I usually presented my idea and development to my clients.  It conveyed the messages just nice and most importantly saved my time extensively.... ^^;

Hi guys!!! Hope you're doing swell.....okay, firstly, I would like to congratulate my beloved country, Malaysia, for its 53rd Independence. May the future hold more brighter for us all...^^

Secondly, I want  to apologize for the lack of 'writing' in this blog, not too much information given out instead of  just a single image in every post. Hmm, I don't have many excuse for that really, just that I kinda on tight schedule for most of the time in my weeks, hence I didn't feel really compelled to write anything. I'm not the type of person who let the art do the talking that much, cos I definitely want to share everything about it, such as my thoughts on overall process, why I did that piece, what medium did i use...you know, the usual stuff people explaining about their works, but each time I want to do that, I tend to get lazy and not said a word...haishh...

Anyway, maybe after this I will try to share something (at least) if not everything about my future drawing or whatever, cos I kinda feel that I lose the basic idea of having a blog. Don't worry, even if you guys don't read it, I wont hold a grudge...woohoo...hihi

Last but not least....(hmm, what is it? .......Snap, I forgot.....).......oh ya, I'f you haven't noticed already, I had setup another blog titled "The Daily Sketches of Sammy" last weekend, and as stated, the blog is all about my sketches or probably you can see most of my random doodles over there. The reason I created that blog is just for hooking up all my daily sketches or the 'innocent' art that drew for my warm ups and studies. Well, before this, all of that will probably never see the daylight and I think that blog is a good place to put them as a gallery. Simply put, all the crap that I've done will end up over there...hahaha.....Ohkayy, so go check them out, and I guarantee you guys will love it! And make sure you bookmark, follow, save as page, or whatever, cos you never know what you're gonna see up there... ^^;

A very sad week for animation industry. The ever talented anime animator/director, Satoshi Kon had died due to pancreatic cancer. He was 46...

Just want to share this drawing. Actually, this is my first time drawing a 'chibi'/mini version of character and I enjoyed it very much. Before this I never had any interest to draw a chibi character (cos i thought it will took my 'coolness' away..haha), but now i think I'm addicted. It is so much fun! Believe me and try it...and if you do, please share it with me okay? I would love to see your 'chibis'..(urm, i hope that's not coming out weird...^_^)

Hi guys, hope you all fine and well. ^_^

Been really busy for the past week, with a couple of freelance works and a personal project. I would love to post some of my freelance works sketches to share with you all, but eventhough I got the greenlight from my client to show it to you, I think it is more appropriate for me to finish it first....hihi...so stay tune okay? 

So today, I just took a break from all the works and sketch something for my enjoyment. It just my way to free my mind a bit and then return to them with a fresh perspective. (well at least that's what I'm intended to achieve...haha)

Grifter With One Big Bazooka Sketch

Huah....I'm still in CNY holiday mood. So this is the only piece that I can came out over the weekend (I'm such a loser didnt I?...huhu ). Anyway during those period, I've also racking up my head solving the horrible 'wacom lagging' problem in Photoshop CS4  + Windows 7 OS.

Fudge, I really hate this lagging problem...however i think this is a common problem to whoever upgrading their OS to Windows 7, eventho they have a top notch performance computer, still, the lagging happened. The funny thing is, it only appear in Photoshop. (it runs well in Painter, SAI and Flash). And since I do all my sketch and lineart in PS, this thing really bugging me to death!  

AHHH.......WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?!!!! *sob sob...

Phew...okay...emo aside, this is the sketch that I did concurrently with the lagging PS hazzard...even it is just a sketch, it's not that half bad I think. And I guess I should be thankful for whatever happened to me  at the moment and not taking anything for granted... ^_^

Allrighty, if you guys a nice solution to my problem, do drop a shout okay? Really appreciate it...bye! :)

This Is Going To Be One Hell Of A Show!

Hi guys, firstly let me wish you a Happy Lunar New Year, may you'll have a prosperity years up ahead.

Okay, this is my first Street Fighter character fanart. Been a fan for these bunch of guys but stopped playing them as my age grew...man, how I'd regret that. I just realized that how much I loved Street Fighter back then when I was doing prelim research for this, so you bet there will be more SF character from me in the future (obvious choice: CAMMY!! ^_^)

And as for this piece, don't bother. I was addicted to Jay Z's Empire State of Mind when I was coloring it, so not doing any thinking during the process. Shadows are so ridiculous, but as long it's look okay....it's okay. Please close one eye, will ya...haha..

I hope you'll digging it. And please tell me what you think so I can improve more in the future...really appreciate that a lot. Thanks and have a good day. Seeya...

Hulk Concept Art

Hi guys! Happy February to you...

Actually for the last couple of days, I was kinda occupied with works and personal stuff, so didnt have any drawing to show during the weekend. To make up for it, today I started sketching a 'concept art' for a famous big mean green monster. If I say he's larger than life would be a really understatement...haha ^_^

Anywho, to draw this guys was some kind of a dilemma to me. I wanted to draw him in my own way, animation kinda stuff, but at the same time I wanted his anatomy to be close to a real figure. A lot of 'erasing, Ctr+Z, and copy/paste' (hail technology!), and after a few hours I finished sketching and continue on coloring in Photoshop CS4.

Well, its not perfect, but I've learned a lot. Hope can improve...Thanks for stopping by!
